The first image was done for a friend & is the primary reason why I don't draw in a superhero style.

I think you are being overly harsh on yourself. The superhero picture works perfectly in that more relaxed style like Michael Lark but is definitely not going to satisfy Rob Leifield David Finch fans. While you haven't caught Astroboy's face that well the image captures the fun of the books quite nicely.
